The aspirant who wants to apply for IES 2018   Exam should lie in the age group of 21-30 years on 1st August of 2018 or the year of examination. Relaxation in age will be provided to reserved categories as per government norms.

The commission will conduct the preliminary examination on 7 January 2018 for recruiting candidates against 588 vacancies. The examination will be held in 42 cities nationwide.

The Engineering Services (Preliminary/Stage-I) Examination will consist of two objective type (multiple choices) questions papers and carrying a maximum of 500 marks. There will be negative marking for wrong answers marked by the candidate. For each wrong answer, one third (0.33) of the marks will be deducted as penalty. In this way, the engineering services (Main/Stage II) examination will consist two conventional type papers in Engineering Discipline specific with duration of 3 hours and maximum marks of 600.
