The Small Group Dinosaur treatment curriculum is for counselors, therapists, or special education teachers to treat children with conduct problems, ADHD, and internalizing problems. It is delivered in 2-hour weekly small group sessions (6 children per group) for 18-22 weeks. Ideally it is offered in conjunction with the 2-hour weekly parenting program group sessions so parents have an opportunity to foster their children’s learning in Dinosaur School in their interactions with them at home.

An early intervention and violence prevention program targeted to elementary school students, ages 5 - 11, who are at risk of juvenile delinquency, expulsion and/or suspension from school.

The PATHS for Kids program utilizes Promoting Alternative Thinking Strategies (PATHS) which is an evidence-based curriculum for promoting emotional and social competencies and reducing aggression and acting out behaviors in elementary aged children. PATHS curriculum covers five areas of social and emotional development including self-control, emotional understanding, self-esteem, peer relations, and interpersonal problem-solving skills.

Our programs are designed to further our mission and provide much needed services for our constituents.

The BrightPath Curriculum was formed through in-depth and comprehensive research into early childhood learning and development. Our program is a blend of the Frog Street and Emergent curriculums. The variety of this curriculum exposes children to different activities in all areas of learning and development. All activities are hands-on and child-guided, because not every child is the same, and we all learn a little differently.

The Frog Street program is broken down into Infants, Toddlers, and Pre-Kindergarten. The learning materials and intentional activities provided are development and age-appropriate, and ensure that children are engaged in the sensory and creative play opportunities embedded into the daily program plans. Everything from the songs, crafts, stories, and learning opportunities are tailored for the age group, and further tailored to the child's interests and strengths.

Active bodies and minds need nourishment. At the conception of BrightPath, we knew we needed to incorporate healthy nutrition into our way of life. As we considered our vision to raise the standard of early learning and child care in Canada, we wanted to provide families with an alternative to the suboptimal unhealthy foods often provided to children.

The sad truth is that most U.S. schools don’t foster good mental health or strong connections with friends and nurturing adults. Data show that only 29 percent of sixth- through 12th-grade students report that their schools provide caring, encouraging environments. Another 30 percent of high school students say they engage in high-risk behaviors, such as substance use, sex, violence and even suicide attempts.

For decades, a dedicated group of prevention experts — many of them psychologists — has been trying to improve those statistics through an approach called social and emotional learning, or SEL. They believe that if schools teach youngsters to work well with others, regulate their emotions and constructively solve problems, students will be better equipped to deal with life’s challenges, including academic ones.

“It’s about creating an environment where a child can learn — because if a child isn’t emotionally prepared to learn, he or she is not going to learn,” says SEL researcher and program developer Marc Brackett, PhD, head of the Emotional Intelligence Unit at Yale University’s Edward Zigler Center in Child Development and Social Policy.
